Watch: Yuzvendra Chahal receives 'Sangeeta Phogat swing' in a viral WWE-like video

India leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal stole the limelight with off-the-field antics. The Rajasthan Royals spinner was lifted on the back by Wrestler Sangeeta Phogat, who then twirled the cricketer around during a recent Jhalak Dikhla Jaa party. 

Yuzvendra Chahal of late has been actively involved with her wife Dhanashree Verma, who is involved with the Sony TV dance show. The leg-spinner has been actively supporting her wife and asking for votes from fans, that will help his wife win the competition. 

Dhanashree Verma has made it into the top five contestants left in the show and the winner is set to be announced today (2nd March). Sangeeta Phogat, who is among the eliminated contestants, shared a light moment with Yuzvendra Chahal during the Jhalak Dikhla Jaa party. 

In the video that went viral the on internet, Wrestler Sangeeta Phogat can be seen showcasing her wrestling skills to cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal. She can be seen twirling the cricketer on her back before landing him in a light moment.

Talking about his cricket, Yuzvendra Chahal was recently left out of the BCCI’s annual contract. It came a as surprise to many because he was a regular member of the Indian team for the last few years. He played a vital role in the team’s famous win and was the mainstay of the Indian bowling lineup.

Yuzvendra Chahal of late has struggled to get going and that is why he potentially was dropped from the BCCI’s contract list. He was replaced by Ravi Bishnoi in the T20Is and Kuldeep Yadav is getting preference in the ODIs. Even though he is getting picked in squads but is not getting opportunities. 

The upcoming IPL 2024 will be a great opportunity for him to prove his worth. He will be playing for Rajasthan Royals in the league and is expected to play a vital role for the team. The leg-spinner since the last farseer has been exceptional in the league and would want to continue his form in the league.

Yuzvendra Chahal was the prime member of the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL. The leg-spinner wasn’t retained for the IPL 2022 and the team didn’t sign him up in the auction as well.  

Mike Hesson, who was Director of Cricket for RCB during that time, said that he called Yuzvendra Chahal after he wasn’t picked and the leg-spinner was upset. He admitted that the duo to the auction dynamics didn’t pick him. Speaking to cricket.com, he explained: 

“I remember ringing Yuzi afterwards and he was upset. It was very difficult to try and explain to him the auction dynamics at that time. We only retained three players because we wanted to buy back both Harshal Patel and Yuzi at the auction. By only retaining three players, it gave us an extra four crore to do that.” 

Since leaving, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Yuzvendra Chahal has been exceptional in the league for Rajasthan Royals. He has brought out his best and has helped his new team win.
