Former Indian cricketer Wasim Jaffer hailed young all-rounder Washington Sundar’s performance with both bat and ball in the first T20I against New Zealand. The Men in Blue lost a match to the Black Caps by 21 runs in the first T20I at the JSCA International Stadium Complex in Ranchi on Friday, January 27. The visitors took a 1-0 lead in the three-match series.

After winning the toss, Team India bowlers restricted the opposition to 176 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. The 23-year-old took two wickets for 22 runs in his four-over quota. Sundar put up a great fight with the bat in the run chase until the last over and scored his maiden T20I half-century when all other batsmen failed to score.
