England Cricket Team registered a resounding victory over New Zealand in the 1st Test match. The visitors won the match by a whooping 267-run margin. Stuart Broad and James Anderson wreak havoc by picking 4 wickets each in 2nd innings. The Black Caps batters looked clueless while facing the pink ball under the floodlights.

England has been on a roll since the duo of Brendon McCullum & Ben Stokes have taken the charge. England is yet to lose a Test Series since July 2022 after successfully winning against New Zealand, India (*5th Test match), South Africa & Pakistan. England’s cricket team has been quite ruthless where the ‘Bazball’ approach has been fruitful so far.

Nasser Hussain on Ashes 2023 & India

Nasser Hussain wrote in his column for The Daily Mail where he made interesting comments on playing in India and Ashes 2023.

“Given Australia have not won here since 2001, England’s greatest challenge will be away in India. The Ashes is going to be mouthwatering, and I think it will be close. People are talking about whether Bazball will work against their high-quality bowling attack,” wrote Nasser Hussain.

“I think the Ashes will be won and lost on Australia’s batting line-up. They have been below par away from home, but if they can score runs in England, it will be pretty tight,” he added.

Nasser Hussain on Brendon McCullum

Nasser Hussain hailed Head Coach Brendon McCullum.

“McCullum was the right fit at the right time. Before he came in, England were being micromanaged to the Nth degree, whether it be because of the Covid bubbles or their rotation policy. They needed someone like McCullum to set them free. With Stokes as his captain, they have two people who are completely aligned,” wrote Nasser Hussain.

It won’t be wrong to say that England has revolutionized Test cricket. Skipper Ben Stokes has been the bowler’s captain and has been magnificent with the field placings. England fans would be hoping that the team continues their purple patch in the upcoming World Test Championship (WTC 2023-25).
