Naseem Shah is an emerging youngster in Pakistan cricket who has gained fame in recent times. Naseem Shah has grabbed nationwide success in Pakistan cricket with his nail-biting pace attack; which entertains fans to the fullest.
Naseem Shah is a right-arm pacer who is in his 20s. He has made it into the national side and has become one of the most dangerous pacers for the Pakistan Team. He was part of the Pakistan team in the ICC T20 World Cup in 2022, where he also impressed in the match against India by getting early wickets.
Early and Personal Life
Naseem Shah was born on February 15, 2003, in Mayar City in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa State in Pakistan. He has four brothers and two sisters and grew up with them. His father Abbas Shah had different plans for him but supported his passion for cricket.
The right-arm pacer first started playing cricket with the help of his uncle, who admitted him to Abdul Qadir Cricket Academy when he was 13. His childhood coach Sulaman Qadir helped him to break into the Lahore Under-16 team, which was his first break in the domestic circuit.
Domestic Career
Naseem Shah made his first-class debut in September 2018. The very next year, he made his List A debut in Zarai Taraqiati Bank Limited. In September 2019, he managed to enter the Central Punjab Team.
Later next month, the Pakistan Cricket Board promoted him in the National T20 Cup tournament and he became a regular member of the domestic circuit. Later, he made his international debut in 2022.
International Career
The Pakistan pacer made his international debut in an ODI clash in August 2022 against the Netherlands. He picked a 3-wicket haul in the match. As a result, he was also picked for his T20I debut against India in the same month.
In July 2023, he also made his Test debut for Pakistan. So far, he has played a handful of games for Pakistan but has become a regular member in all three formats. He was also part of Asia Cup 2023 but got injured during the tournament and returned to the field after almost six months.
Franchise Career
Naseem Shah is quite active in franchise tournaments. He has played for teams like Quetta Gladiators and Islamabad United in Pakistan Super League. He has also played in foreign leagues like the Caribbean Premier League (St Kitts & Nevis Patriots) in the past.
