Sohail Tanvir was the most stunning and dangerous pacer to ever play for Pakistan. With a unique and dangerous action, he used to confuse betters and dismantle many crucial wickets for his team. Sohail Tanvir was a left-arm pacer for Pakistan who represented the side for 10 years from 2017 to 2017. He was a crucial pacer for the team during his active career. He now plays in the Legends League.
Family and Personal Life
Sohail Tanvir was born on December 12 1984 in Rawalpindi city in Punjab Pakistan. The left arm grew up with his only brother Amjad Tanvir. He had two marriages the first one with Naushin Agha and the second one with Komal Khan. He has three sons from his second wife and one daughter from his first wife.
Early and Domestic Career-
Sohail Tanveer broke into the domestic circuit in 2004 while playing for the Rawalpindi team and went on to play for the side till 2019. He also played for Khan Research Laboratories, Baluchistan, and Rawalpindi Rams during his domestic career.
International Career
Sohail Tanvir made his international debut in 2007 and played for Pakistan till 2017. He made his International debut in all three formats in the same year 2007 due to his exceptional bowling after entering the national side.
However, he did not get much limelight in Tests and played only 2 games where he got 5 wickets. He played a total of 62 ODIs during his career and grabbed 71 wickets at an average of 36.14 and an economy of 5.22. In 57 T20 games for Pakistan, he got 54 wickets at an economy of 7.19 and an average of 26.93. For 10 years he ruled Pakistan cricket like a dominating pacer.
Franchise Career-
Sohail Tanvir also played for Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2008 season and with his marvelous bowling, he helped the team to clinch the title. He grabbed the best bowling figures of 6/14 in the match and it was the best bowling show for many years. In 11 games, he grabbed a total of 22 wickets and also one purple cap at an average of 12.09 and an economy of 6.46. It was the best show by Pakistan in IPL 2008.
He also played in the Caribbean Premier League, Bangladesh Premier League, and Pakistan Super League for various franchise teams like St Kitts and Nevis Patriots, Guyana Amazon Warriors, Multan Sultans, and Quetta Gladiators.
