Multan Sultans have made an ideal start to their PSL 2022 campaign. At the time of writing, they have won both the games played in the tournament and thus are sitting at the top of the points table. Multan Sultans will be playing their fourth match of the tournament against Islamabad United on Tuesday. Here’s a look at their predicted playing for that game.
ISL vs MUL: Multan Sultans’ Predicted Playing XI Against Islamabad United– Pakistan Super League 2022, Match 08
Openers: Mohammad Rizwan and Shan Masood
Both have played an integral role in helping Multan Sultans’ win the first two matches. The duo stitched a match-winning 150-run partnership in the high-scoring encounter against Lahore Qalandars and would look to replicate a similar performance on Tuesday.
Middle-Order: Sohaib Maqsood, Rilee Rossouw, and Tim David
The middle-order is yet to step up to the plate in the tournament. Sohaib Maqsood has got starts but failed to convert those into big scores. He scored 20 runs in 17 deliveries against Lahore Qalandars.
The fans have a lot more expectations than that. The overseas cricketers, Rilee Rossouw and Tim David are yet to showcase their batting prowess. The duo has endured forgettable numbers in the tournament thus far but the team management is unlikely to drop them from the playing XI.
All-rounders: Khushdil Shah and David Willey
Khushdil has impressed one and all with his all-round potential in the ongoing tournament. He has chipped in with an over or two and managed to pick wickets as well. His outstanding 4-ball 18-run cameo against Lahore Qalandars will certainly be remembered in the years to come. The presence of David Willey adds depth to this batting line-up. He should be retained for the game on Tuesday.
Bowlers: Shahnawaz Dahani, Imran Tahir, Anwar Ali and Ihnsanullah
Imran Tahir was outstanding in the first two matches. He produced a match-defining spell in the first game and also returned with great figures in the next game as well. Shahnawaz Dahani bowled well in the first game but went for plenty in the next. He was brilliant last year and it will be interesting to see if he could continue delivering impressive performances this year as well.
Given how Imran Khan has fared so far, it isn’t likely that he will retain his position in the playing XI. Anwar Ali is likely to replace him on Tuesday. Besides, Ihnsanullah should complete the playing XI.
