Peshawar Zalmi batter Ben Cutting and Quetta Gladiators bowler Sohail Tanvir were seen engaging in middle finger gestures during the recent Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2022 match on February 15, 2022. Both the teams fought it out closely to cement their position for the playoffs of ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) 7.
The argument between the two stems from an incident in Caribbean Premier League (CPL 2018), where Sohail Tanvir, playing for Guyana Amazon Warriors had clean bowled Ben Cutting of St Kitts and Nevis Patriots and then gave him a sendoff buy showing him a middle finger of both hands.
This led to the Pakistani bowler copping a fine of 15% of his match fee for making an obscene gesture. Tanvir accepted the sanction handed to him by match referee Denavon Hayles.
Ben Cutting Returns The Favor To Sohail Tanvir In PSL 2022 Match; Tanvir Shows Middle Finger Once Again
It seems, that Ben Cutting had not forgotten the incident from the CPL 2018, and gave it back to Sohail Tanvir after smashing him to all parts of the Lahore Stadium.
During the high stakes match-up, Zalmi batter Ben Cutting punished Tanvir in the 19th over as he smashed 27 runs, courtesy of four sixes, a single, and a double. And then, Cutting got some payback as he showed the same finger gesture to Tanvir. This led to an argument between the two. The on-field umpire intervened and dispersed them.
However, in the next over, Naseem Shah bowled, and Cutting smashed the bowl. However, Tanvir was at short third man and took the catch. After taking his catch, Tanvir again showed the finger gesture.
