Sachin Tendulkar Family

Sachin Tendulkar is one of the most decorated batsmen of all time. A right-handed batsman, Tendulkar played for Team India in all three formats. In domestic cricket, he played for Mumbai while in the Indian Premier League, he plied his trade for Mumbai Indians.

Sachin Tendulkar’s Parents:

Sachin Tendulkar was born to Ramesh Tendulkar and Rajni Tendulkar. Sachin Tendulkar's father, Ramesh was a notable Marathi novelist and poet. On the other hand, Sachin Tendulkar's mother, Rajni worked as an LIC agent.

Rajni was employed in the Foreign Department in LIC’s Santacruz Branch. Tendulkar shares a very close bond with his mother and never misses a chance to show his love for his beloved mother. In one of his posts on X (formerly Twitter), Tendulkar said that 'Aai' (Marathi word for mother) stands for someone who is ‘Always Amazing and Irreplaceable.’

Tendulkar's father was a novelist and a poet. He was born in Alibag and did his schooling there before moving to Mumbai. After completing his education, Ramesh worked as a professor at Kirti College.

Ramesh married twice. From his first marriage, he had two sons and a daughter. After his first wife passed away, he married her younger sister Rajni. In 1973, Ramesh and Rajni welcomed Sachin Tendulkar into the world. Ramesh passed away in 1999 after suffering a heart attack.

Sachin Tendulkar’s Siblings:

Sachin Tendulkar has three half-siblings, two elder brothers and a sister. All of Tendulkar's half-siblings were born to Ramesh and his first wife.

Sachin Tendulkar's eldest brother's name is Nitin Tendulkar. Nitin was an Air India employee. Not much is known about him. Tendulkar’s second elder brother, Ajit Tendulkar was very close to the former India cricketer. Ajit played a big role in Tendulkar's journey as a cricketer.

Ajit is 15 years older than Tendulkar and took him to cricket coach Ramakant Achrekar. While Tendulkar could not impress his coach early on, Ajit's conviction helped him turn things around.

Talking about Sachin Tendulkar’s sister, her name is Savita Tendulkar. Not much information is available to the public about Savita.

Sachin Tendulkar’s Wife:

Sachin Tendulkar's wife's name is Anjali Tendulkar. Anjali is from a Gujarati family and is a pediatrician. She is six years older than Tendulkar. Her father’s name is Anand Mehta while her mother’s name is Annabel.

Anjali and Tendulkar tied the knot on 24 May 1995. They first met each other at an airport in 1990 when Tendulkar was returning home from an overseas tour. On the other hand, Anjali was waiting at the airport to receive her mother. It was love at first sight although Anjali was unaware of Tendulkar's professional life.

Sachin Tendulkar's kids:

Sachin Tendulkar and Anjali Tendulkar have two kids, a daughter and a son. They became parents for the first time in 1997 when they welcomed their daughter Sara in the world. Sara was born on 12 October. Two years later on 24 September, Tendulkar and Anjali became parents to their son Arjun.

Sara did her schooling at the Dhirubhai Ambani International School and then completed her graduation in Medicine from the University College of London. On the other hand, Arjun is a professional cricketer. He started his domestic career with Mumbai before moving to Goa to get more chances. In the IPL, Arjun plays for Mumbai Indians.
