Melbourne Stars' journey in BBL so far:

Melbourne Stars are one of the most consistent teams in the BBL history. Although they have yet to win the title, they have progressed to the semifinals and the finals on a regular basis. Their performance, however, has not really been up to the mark in recent seasons.

In the first four seasons of the BBL, Melbourne Stars qualified for the semifinals although they failed to make it to the final. In the fifth season, they finally went one step ahead and made it to the final before losing the title decider. In the sixth season, the Melbourne-based outfit once again made it to the semifinals.

In their seventh season that is 2017-18 season, they failed to go past the league stage for the first time in their history as they finished at the bottom of the points table. However, in the very next season, they bounced back to finish the league stage at the fourth spot and finished runners-up.

In the 2019-20 season too, they finished as the runners-up after finishing the league stage at the top of the points table. In the last three seasons, however, they have failed to progress ahead of the league stage.
