Even after making an international debut, there is no guarantee that a player will stay long in the national team. There are many Indian players who made their international debut in the past but were out of the team after playing some games. These players managed to get into the team but their careers did not take off.

In the last two years, Indian cricket has seen many debutants getting chances in the national team. While some of them impressed with their performances, some others failed to grab the limelight and were soon out of the national team. Now, their comeback also feels quite impossible. Here are 5 Indian players who have made their international debut but their comeback seems impossible.

5 Indian Players Who Have Made Their International Debut But Their Comeback Seems Impossible

1. Shivam Dube

Shivam Dube is the first player on this list. The Indian all-rounder made his international debut in November 2019. However, after playing a few games he was out due to poor performance. The left-handed batsman has played 1 ODI and 13 T20Is, hitting 9 runs and 105 runs respectively.

He has picked 5 wickets so far. His last appearance in the national team was in February 2020, when he played a T20I game against New Zealand.

2. Nitish Rana

Nitish Rana is another player on this list. Rana is the middle-order batsman who made his international debut during the series against Sri Lanka in July 2021. In 1 ODI and 2 T20Is, he has scored 7 and 15 runs.

Since he is a middle-order batsman, Rana has narrow competition from players like Shreyas Iyer, Suryakumar Yadav, and Deepak Hooda among others. Hence, it is unlikely he might make a comeback to the national team.

3. K Gowtham

Krishnappa Gowtham is another player on this list. Gowtham has played only 1 ODI game so far, which was against Sri Lanka in July last year. He picked only 1 wicket in the match and scored 2 runs. If we take a look at spin-rounders, players like Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, and Deepak Hooda, are some regular members in the national time. Hence, Gowtham will find it hard to find a place in the national team.

Faiz Fazal is a left-handed batsman who made his international debut in a match against Zimbabwe in 2016. He played a good knock of 55 runs in that match. However, he never got any chance after his first ODI.

He is now 36 years old and it’s almost impossible for him to find a place in the Indian team in future. He is an opening batsman and players like Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, Shikhar Dhawan, Ishan Kishan, and Shubman Gill dominate the opening slot in the team currently.

5. Rahul Chahar

Rahul Chahar is another player on this list. Chahar came out as an emerging spinner for India last year. However, his poor show in T20 World Cup 2021 last year hampered his career. He has played 1 ODI match in which he picked 3 wickets. In 6 T20I games, Chahar accounts for 7 wickets at an average of 23.86.

Among spinners, Yuzvendra Chahal, Kuldeep Yadav, Ravi Bishnoi, Axar Patel, and Ravichandran Ashwin are some top choices for selectors currently. Hence, Chahar has little chance to get into the national side again.
