Umran Malik Father

Umran Malik is an Indian cricketer who plies his trade for Team India in international cricket. In domestic cricket, he represents Jammu and Kashmir while in the Indian Premier League, he plies his trade for Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Umran Malik shot to limelight in 2021 when he earned his maiden IPL contract from Sunrisers Hyderabad. At first, Sunrisers Hyderabad had roped him in as a net bowler. However, they later signed him up as a Covid-19 replacement for left-arm pacer T Natarajan.

The right-arm pacer grabbed the opportunity with both hands. He clocked 150 kph on his debut and soon became a household name in India for his pace-bowling ability. Even though Umran Malik played only 3 games in his debut season, Sunrisers Hyderabad decided to retain him ahead of the 2022 mega auction.

In 2022, he enjoyed a brilliant campaign, taking 22 wickets from 14 games including a 5-wicket haul. It also paved the way for his India debut. Umran made his debut for India during the 2022 tour of Ireland.

Umran Malik's father:

Umran Malik's father's name is Abdul Rashid. By profession, Umran Malik's father is a fruit seller.  Rashid owns a vegetable and fruit shop in Jammu’s Gujjar Nagar. In an interview, Umran revealed that fruit selling has been a family business.

Abdul Rashid never shied away from backing his son's dream of becoming a cricket. In an interview, Rashid revealed that he never hesitated to buy any cricket equipment for his son. At the same time, Rashid has also refused to take any credit for his son.
