Apart from the players, fielding coach T Dilip, security liaison officer B Lokesh and massage therapist Rajeev Kumar have also been infected with the contagious virus. All the members who tested positive for COVID-19 are isolated on a different floor in the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Ahmedabad.

Every member was also asked to undergo an RT-PCR test at home before embarking on their journey to Ahmedabad and the travel was undertaken only after testing negative,” the BCCI said in a statement.

As a result of the unpleasant event, the BCCI has included Karnataka batter Mayank Agarwal in the ODI squad.

The team was scheduled to kick off their training session from Thursday onwards, however, uncertainty looms over their practice after the Indian team was hit with the news of COVID-19 positive.
