5 More West Indies Members Test Positive For COVID In Pakistan, Dark Clouds Loom Large Over The Tour

5 more members of the West Indies Cricket Team that has travelled to Pakistan have tested positive for COVID-19. These 5 players include the likes of Shai Hope, Akeal Hosein, and Justin Greaves and apart from them, assistant Coach Roddy Estwick, and Team Physician Dr Akshai Mansingh returned positive results.

Notably, three members of the West Indies team had already tested positive even before the first T20I of the tour was played. Apart from them, their captain Kieron Pollard was ruled out of the series due to injury and Devon Thomas sustained a finger injury in the first T20I which ruled him out of the series. The tour is currently in shambles right now.

West Indies Cricket Board And Pakistan Cricket Board To Meet Before The 3rd T20I

“Three players: wicketkeeper/batsman Shai Hope, left-arm spinner Akeal Hosein, allrounder Justin Greaves; along with Assistant Coach Roddy Estwick, and Team Physician Dr Akshai Mansingh returned positive results in the latest round of testing carried out by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB),” the statement said.

All three players will therefore miss the upcoming matches and all five individuals will remain isolated from the rest of the West Indies squad and are now under the care and supervision provided by medical officials. They will remain in isolation for 10 days or until they test negative for coronavirus.
