For the second game in a row, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) came up with a stunning bowling display to defend a low-scoring total. The Kane Williamson-led side defended a modest total of 132 against the high-flying Kings XI Punjab (KXIP), to register their fourth win of the season.

Leg-spinner Rashid Khan was the pick of the bowlers, as he picked up three wickets for 19 off his four overs, whereas, Sandeep Sharma, Basil Thampi, and Shakib Al Hasan bagged two wickets apiece.

Earlier in the game, Ankit Rajpoot’s stunning spell of five for 14 helped the Mohali-based outfit KXIP to restrict the Sunrisers to 132 for six. But in reply, Ravichandran Ashwin-led team was bowled out for a paltry score of 119.

With the game now done and dusted, here is a look at some interesting numbers and stats:

1. Ankit Rajpoot‘s five-wicket haul is the first of this season and the fourth in the IPL at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad.

The stadium has witnessed the most number of five-fers in IPL.

2. Rajpoot’s five for 14 is the second best bowling figure which came in a losing cause in the IPL.

Adam Zampa recorded figures of six for 19 while representing Rising Pune Supergiant (RPS) in 2016, but Sunrisers Hyderabad had gone on to win the game.

3. Rajpoot’s bowling figures are the second best for an Indian pacer in the IPL.

The record is held by Ishant Sharma, who had taken five for 12 while playing for Deccan Chargers (now defunct) against Kochi Tuskers Kerala in 2011.

4. Rajpoot is now the first uncapped player to bag a givewicket haul in the IPL.

His figures are also the best by a Kings XI Punjab player. He went past Dimitri Mascarenhas’ record who had taken five for 25 against Pune Warriors India (PWI) in 2012.

5. Shakib Al Hasan breached the 50-wicket mark in IPL when he sent back Mayank Agarwal. This was also Shakib’s 50th match in the IPL. He became the 5th overseas spinner – to complete 50 calps in the Indian T20 league.

6.  The 132-run total is the second-lowest total that Sunrisers Hyderabad have successfully defended in Hyderabad in the IPL.

In 2013, they had successfully defended 126 against PWI.
