SA vs IND 2018: Sanjay Manjrekar Trolled on Twitter for Calling Pandya 'Arrogant'
Updated - 16 Jan 2018, 12:53 PM
Ex-India cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar drew unwanted criticism on Twitter after he called Indian all-rounder ‘arrogant.’
Notably, Pandya did a schoolboy error in the morning session of the third day, as he got himself run out.
The young cricketer attracted the unwanted criticism after the dismissal, as he gifted the wicket at a crunch situation. India was in a spot of bother, and it was the partnership between Virat Kohli and R Ashwin which took India close to the total of South Africa. There were chances of taking the all-important lead if the Pandya grounded the bat.
Sanjay Manjrekar, who is currently working as a commentator in this series, immediately took to Twitter and expressed that it was a harsh lesson or the upcoming all-rounder.
He wrote,
“Early lesson for Hardik Pandya that this game will come to bite you back if you let confidence become arrogance.”

While he was absolutely perfect, as Pandya was lazy enough to ground his bat, the word ‘arrogant’ didn’t go well with the Indian fans. While some said it was too harsh on the part of the young all-rounder, others raised that Manjrekar is too harsh on non-Mumbaikars.
While it was a huge turning point in the game, Manjrekar received his share of criticism for his comment:
One small mistake and you call it arrogance?? ???

Even after the Hardiks negligence run out.. ashwin did same mistake by not founding the bat properly.. so our players are so rigid to correct themsleves…

My reply to this tweet is as relevant as your interpretation to pandya's wicket to arrogance pic.twitter.com/yJ1LoKKroJ

Dude seriously !! So every good player should behave exactly the same way. Is there no place for some flamboyance anymore ? Do we have to bring everyone down ? Let him be, it was a mistake, it happens.

Arrogance is a big word.
I think you have to take back your words. #SAvsIND— SatwikMathangi (@seven_week) January 15, 2018
