Young pacer Jasprit Bumrah struck twice early in the second innings after Virat Kohli’s splendid knock helped India inch closer to South Africa’s target first innings score of 335.

South Africa was striving at 5 for the loss of two wickets losing their opener Aiden Markram and one drop Hashim Amla. The Indian seamers were on fire in an attempt to rattle the South African batting line-up in the second innings.

It was on the fourteenth over of the innings when Virat Kohli handed the ball to Ravichandran Ashwin. Both the batsmen struggled to tackle the spin of Ashwin. Virat, who is always animated on the field was seen cheering from the slip cordon.

Virat was heard saying:

“G**nd phati hain behenc**d daalo ek jaaga pe chalo Ash,” while cheering from Ashwin.

Despite all the bowling changes made by Kohli, India couldn’t manage to pick another wicket as Dean Elgar and AB de Villiers provided strong resistance to the host yesterday.

However, Mohammad Shami broke all the resistance picking three back-to-back wickets after a solid start by the overnight duo in the morning session of the fourth day.

India will now look to curtail the South African innings cheaply and chase down the target in an attempt to level the series.
