The announcement of the Bangladesh Cricket Board’s final Asia Cup team was postponed due to worries about injuries, but the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has given them more time to do so.

The Asia Cup team announcement date is August 8, but BCB asked the ACC to extend it for them since they are awaiting medical reports on several players.

The chairman of the BCB cricket operation, Jalal Yunus, said on Saturday: “The extensive injury list has placed us on the back foot and so we sought the ACC to give some extra time to complete our team and they have approved it.”

Litton Das and Nurul Hasan have already been pulled out of the current tour of Zimbabwe due to injuries, and unless they fully heal before the deadline, they appear questionable to play in the Asia Cup.

Nurul is currently in Singapore to have his condition evaluated, and if his finger does not need surgery, he may make a last-minute cut.

Despite reports that Litton needs four weeks to heal from the injury, team management has not yet decided to rule him out.

Bangladesh Cricket Board need to finalize their T20I skipper:

Bangladesh must choose their T20I captain for the Asia Cup and the forthcoming T20 World Cup in addition to addressing injury problems. Shakib al Hasan was the front-runner, but in light of his most recent sponsorship agreement with Betwinner News, he must explain his stance to the board.

Despite one of them expressing unwillingness to assume the leadership job, the Bangladesh Cricket Board board president recently stated that they had four possibilities available to them.

Mahmudullah is also competing to take on the role, despite claims to the contrary from some Bangladesh Cricket Board sources.

It was discovered that Shakib wanted to know the span of his T20I captaincy and that, according to insiders, he would be willing to accept if the position was given to him for two years. This indicates that Shakib is also interested in the upcoming World Cup and wants to prepare his team accordingly.
