Asia Cup 2022: "Don't Write Them Off, They Will Also Be A Threat In The World Cup": Rajkumar Sharma On India's Top Three

Former Indian captain Virat Kohli’s childhood coach Rajkumar Sharma believes that the team management should back the Indian top three of Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul and Virat Kohli in the upcoming games.
Rohit & co have been going through a purple patch, winning almost every series they have played and started the Asia Cup 2022 with two consecutive wins.
Looking at the preparation for the T20 World Cup in Australia in October this year, team India is ticking all the boxes building up to the global event.
However, there has been one spot where the team is struggling since the last T20 World Cup in 2021.
Is Team India’s Big Three running out of time?
The Indian top order of Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul and Virat Kohli have failed to fire in the recent past and many questions have been raised about their conservative style of play which doesn’t fit the modern requirements of the game.
The most recent outburst happened in the game against Hong Kong where the top three failed to give an aggressive start once again. KL Rahul, who was playing only his second T20I after returning from injury, faced severe criticism for his knock of 36 runs in 39 balls.
If the top three return to form then India will be an unbeatable side: Rajkumar Sharma
Delhi coach Rajkumar Sharma asked the fans to remain a bit patient and should not write the big three off yet. According to Rajkumar, if the big three get going, India will be unstoppable.
“They are world-class batters and have proved why they are genuine match-winners. If they find form, with Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya, and Rishabh Pant to follow, we have all the signs of becoming an unbeatable side in T20Is.
“Not just in the Asia Cup, but they will also be a threat in the World Cup,” Rajkumar told India News Sports.
Former Indian selector and wicket-keeper batter Saba Karim was also there, speaking to India News Sports, where he claimed there is no one better than Suryakumar Yadav as a middle-order batter in the world.
“We are lucky to have a batter like Suryakumar Yadav. The middle-order is the toughest position to bat in T20Is. You have to up the scoring rate even if a wicket falls or finish the innings with some power-hitting.
“With all these factors considered, I don’t think there is any middle-order batter like Suryakumar Yadav in world cricket at the moment,” Karim said on Suryakumar after his blistering knock of 68 off 26 balls against Hong Kong.
“He has tremendous belief as well as practice of playing those ramp shots of pacers and sweeps off-spinners. We are lucky that we have a batter like him,” he further added.
India have joined Afghanistan in the Super 4 stage and both teams will be joined by the winners of Bangladesh vs Sri Lanka and Pakistan vs Hong Kong.
