Pakistan has named a 16-man squad for the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Super League matches against the Netherlands from August 16 to 21, as well as a 15-man squad for the ACC T20 Asia Cup, which will be held in the United Arab Emirates from August 27 to September 11.
Hasan Ali has been dropped from Pakistan’s squads for the ODIs against the Netherlands and the Asia Cup in 2022.
Hasan Ali has been replaced in both squads by fast bowler Naseem Shah, and Salman Ali Agha, who traveled to England in 2021 for the ODIs, has been called back. Shaheen Shah Afridi has been kept in the ODI and T20I squads, and the team trainer and physiotherapist will oversee his recovery process and make the decision regarding his return to international cricket.
‘Salman Ali Agha succeeded in the past 2 Pakistan Cup tournaments’: Muhammad Wasim
“We only made changes that were necessary.” Both tournaments are important to us, so we chose our best available players after consulting with the skipper and head coach.
“Hasan has indeed been given a break from international cricket, and Naseem Shah has taken his place. He is extremely quick and can add to the fast bowling department, which already includes Haris Rauf, Mohammad Wasim Jnr, Shaheen Shah Afridi, and Shahnawaz Dahani” Chief selector Muhammad Wasim said.
“Salman Ali Agha has been recalled to the ODI squad after a strong showing in the last two Pakistan Cup tournaments, averaging 40.33 and 48.8.” He also provides an additional bowling option for Babar Azam.”
From the Netherlands ODI team to the ACC T20 Asia Cup team, there will be five changes. Asif Ali, Haider Ali, Iftikhar Ahmed, and Usman Qadir will take the position of Abdullah Shafique, Imam-ul-Haq, Mohammad Haris, Salman Ali Agha, and Zahid Mehmood.
