Former Pakistan National Cricket Team spin bowler Danish Kaneria showered praise on the former India National Cricket Team captain Virat Kohli for his good batting performance in the Asia Cup 2022 match against Hong Kong National Cricket Team.
India National Cricket Team locked horns with Hong Kong National Cricket Team in the 4th match of the Asia Cup 2022 on Wednesday, August 31, at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. The Men In Blue defeated Hong Kong National Cricket Team by 40 runs in the first-ever T20I meeting between the teams to qualify for the Super 4s.
Kohli scored good 59 runs off 44 balls, including 1 four and 3 sixes, against the Nizakat Khan-led side and he also had a brilliant 98* runs partnership with Suryakumar Yadav.
In a video shared on his YouTube channel, Kaneria said that Kohli looked at his best against Hong Kong and his return to form is a “dangerous sign for other teams”. He said:
“Virat Kohli is once again looking at his best. He gave no chances to the bowlers and played outstandingly. He seems to have got his form back, which is a dangerous sign for other teams. He can come out of his shell and now it is going to be impossible to stop him.”

Former Pakistan National Cricket Team player further talked about the performances of Suryakumar Yadav, Rahul and Rohit Sharma against the Hong Kong National Cricket Team. He elaborated:
“Suryakumar Yadav’s knock might have come against Hong Kong, but KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma also played against the same bowlers and couldn’t bat in the same fashion.
“KL Rahul played at an ordinary strike rate, that too against a team like Hong Kong. He played a lot of balls but struggled to get going. He is still searching for his form.”
Rohit Sharma scored a 13-ball 21 and his opening partner KL Rahul played a bizarre knock of 36 runs off 39 balls. The middle-order batsman Suryakumar Yadav, who is at the No.3 position in the ICC Men’s T20I Batting Rankings, scored exceptional 68 runs off 26 balls, including 6 fours and 6 sixes.
