IND vs PAK: Idea Will Be To Pick Wickets Of Hardik Pandya, Suryakumar Yadav - Haris Rauf

Pakistan pace bowler Haris Rauf dubbed Indian middle-order batter Suryakumar Yadav and all-rounder Hardik Pandya as key players from the opposition.

Pakistan are set to play another enticing game of cricket against their arch-rivals India with the two teams making it to the Super 4 stage of the Asia Cup 2022.

The two teams will meet after they played a high-intensive match that went till last over in their Asia Cup opener. India won by five wickets with two balls to spare riding on Hardik’s all-round brilliance. 

Hardik was unbeaten on 33 off 17 balls and forged a crucial partnership with Ravindra Jadeja (35 off 29 balls), the duo added 52 runs for the fifth wicket.

Hardik smashed three boundaries off Harris Rauf in the penultimate over to get India closer to the margin. He hit Mohammad Nawaz for a six in the final over to take India home. 

Hardik also lends support to Bhuvneshwar Kumar by providing three wickets in the middle to bundle out Pakistan for 147 in the first innings.

Suryakumar smashed 68 in 26 balls against Hong Kong in the second game to power India to 192. The Mumbai batter clobbered four sixes in the final over of the Indian innings.

Ahead of another India-Pakistan clash, Rauf said Pakistan will be keen to take the wickets of Suryakumar and Hardik from India. 

“They have two main players, Suryakuamr Yadav and Hardik Pandya. The idea will be to pick their wickets early so that their team struggles. They take their time before scoring runs, and we will try not to give them that space. It will be best for us to pick their wickets early,” Rauf said in the pre-match press conference.

India and Pakistan will once again play at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Sunday evening.
