Due to their slow over-rate, India had only four fielders outside the circle for the final three overs. Pakistan must be cursing themselves for lacking middle-order specialists to fully utilise this penalty. If a team has not begun their final over by the time the allotted time plus stoppages expire, the team must bowl the remaining overs with five fielders inside the circle, per his rule.

India took almost two hours to finish their innings, but they should be the more contented team. The high-stakes match kicked off with two reviews, both of which went in Pakistan’s favour, in the first over. Captain Babar Azam got things going with a couple of beautiful drives, but Bhuvneshwar eventually bounced him out for 10.

After nicking one that the Indians didn’t even appeal about, Fakhar Zaman made the decision to walk-off. When Iftikhar Ahmed looked to up the ante, a Hardik bumper bowled at 142 kph sent him off. Iftikhar Ahmed and Rizwan added 45 runs. The Indian all-rounder made excellent use of the short ball, picking up two more wickets for final figures of 3/25. Without those late boundaries from Haris Rauf and Dahani, Pakistan would have finished with a much lower score because they kept losing wickets.

Pakistan Post 147 In The First Innings

When Pakistan reached 128, they lost their ninth wicket, but Shahnawaz Dahani stunned India by hitting two huge sixes to push them to 147. Haris Rauf also scored 13 off seven in the end.

Despite that, India will be happy with that result. The quick bowlers had excellent accuracy. They were hoping for swing, but they didn’t really get any. They effectively took the first five wickets with bouncers by making excellent use of the pitch’s bounce.
