Virat Kohli is on track to become just the second player in the history of international cricket to play 100 games in each format.

Taylor from New Zealand was the first cricketer to reach the milestone back in 2020, and no other player has since done so at the highest level.

The cricketing world is anticipating Virat Kohli’s quick return to form as the king has been going through a rough patch. In India’s first Day-Night Test at home in 2019, Kohli last recorded a century. His performance has only gotten worse since then.

Virat Kohli Would Hope To Start The Tournament On A Good Note

Kohli last appeared in a T20I during India’s recent tour of England. He hasn’t been in great shape as he has struggled for runs over the last few tours including the England tour.

However, with an Asia Cup average in excess of 60, a lot is expected of the veteran batter.

Kohli had previously taken a break after missing the limited-overs series in the West Indies and Zimbabwe. He’ll be looking to get some practice in before the T20 World Cup, which is set to take place later this year in Australia a happy hunting ground for him.

Kohli is expected to bat at No. 3 for the Men in Blue, with KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma likely to start the innings.

Talking about the India-Pakistan game, India has been dealt a major injury blow as Jasprit Bumrah is also out of the tournament due to injury. Meanwhile, India and Pakistan may meet three times during the tournament. Following the August 28 clash, the top two teams in Group A are expected to meet on September 4 in a rematch. Teams can also advance to the finals and compete for the trophy.
