Aakash Chopra has identified India’s history of success as one of their assets going into the 2022 Asia Cup, even when mainstays like Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are occasionally unavailable.
From August 27 to September 11, the continental T20 competition will take place in the United Arab Emirates. On Sunday, August 28, Pakistan will be the opponent for the Men in Blue in their tournament opener.
In a video posted to his YouTube channel, Aakash Chopra expressed his opinion that India’s ability to enter the Asia Cup on a winning streak will be one of their assets. The former India starting pitcher added:
“winning technique. It is a habit to win and lose. India has won four of its previous five games and 22 of its last 29 games. Even without Virat and Rohit, we are still successful. We are developing the ability to triumph over challenging circumstances, which I believe is important.”
We are a batting powerhouse: Aakash Chopra
Aakash Chopra mentioned India’s formidable batting as another advantage. He clarified:
“We are a batting powerhouse.” It has come to the point where we must select between Rishabh Pant and Dinesh Karthik. We are not even getting into Deepak Hooda. If we put all three of them on the international market, every team will say they want to play them.”
Aakash Chopra finished by stating that India must depend on their batsmen to win the title. He stated:
“This Indian team’s greatest strength is its batting. We must win games depending on our batting ability. It is stated that batting wins games and bowling wins tournaments, however, in this case, the opposite may be true. Batting will have to win you a lot of games, possibly including the championship game.”
On August 28 at the Dubai International Stadium, the Indian team will begin their Asia Cup campaign against Pakistan (Sunday).
