Afghanistan’s exuberant all-rounder, Rashid Khan has started making headlines. The leg spinner was seen in the nets with the bat in his hand and smashing some huge sixes. He wanted to make a statement that no team can take them lightly in the upcoming Asia Cup 2022. Afghanistan is placed in a dangerous group as they are due to face Sri Lanka & Bangladesh. Out of the 3 teams, only 2 will advance to the next stage which means each match is a do-or-die one.
Rashid Khan knows that his team doesn’t have a solid top order where they can score 180+ runs easily. There are chances that he may be promoted the order to up the ante. The batters of the Afghanistan Cricket team aren’t good at rotating the strike and this chink in the armour would be definitely targeted by Lankan & Bangladeshi bowlers. It would be interesting to see which two teams get the nod for the Super 4 as all the 3 teams are evenly matched and are a force to reckon with.
Rashid Khan In Full Flow in the Nets
The dynamic all-rounder batted as if he was chasing 30 runs in 10 balls. He was seen making use of the bat swing and was quite determined. There was a speciality in his way of batting as he tried no look helicopter shot. It looks like the all-rounder wants to take the Afghanistan team to the finals and eventually win the Championship. He announced his arrival on the social media account by quoting: “Game Day All Set And Ready To Go”.

Rashid Khan on Virat Kohli & Babar Azam
Rashid Khan is quite confident that Afghanistan would make to the Super 4 stage. If that happens then we may witness battles between the best. Rashid Khan: “For me, both Virat and Babar are equally tough to bowl against. The type of batters they are, they won’t spare a loose delivery. So, for me, both are tough to bowl, but I enjoy the challenge. There is no chance that I will bowl a loose ball to both of them. I will focus on bowling in the right areas but bought are tough to bowl at.”
He also stated: “Bowling to Babar and Virat is fun and it has also been a great learning curve for me. For Example, when I used to bowl to Kane Williamson at SRH, we had a lot of chats afterwards about my bowling. So, his output helped me a lot. I also had discussions with Virat in IPL, and the same goes with Babar too”
