Pakistan Cricket Team was completely outplayed by Sri Lankan Cricket Team in the last match of Super 4. The defeat for Men in Green has raised a lot of eyebrows regarding their middle-order woes.

The batters scored only 121 runs on a flat deck which meant that the Island nation was in the driver’s seat. The batters hardly showed any intent to play shots out of their comfort zone which was quite astounding.

Pakistan Head Coach Saqlain Mushtaq is pretty confident that the team can put up a better performance on the finals day. There is no doubt that Pakistan has one of the best bowling line up who can rattle any opposition on a given day, but they need big runs on the board.

The Men in Green will have to find a consistent middle-order batter as an alone top order can’t win the title. Sri Lanka’s bowlers made sure that they are bowling dot balls regularly which created a lot of pressure on the batters.

Pakistan Head Coach, Saqlain Mushtaq was seen in the post-match press conference.” Our batting has done well against India and Afghanistan when we chased. You might think that it was a small total and Naseem Shah won it for us but all eleven players batted. We are confident of doing well in the final” said Saqlain Mushtaq

“Shocks do happen in cricket when wickets fall. Sri Lanka played better cricket and won. As a team, one should not be thinking about the outcome of the toss.” he added.

“Babar is in good form. It is just that his luck is not going his way. The kind of boundaries he has hit against India. A batter with deeper eyes will say that his form is fine. It is his luck which is not going your way.” Saqlain Mushtaq said.

Defeat hurts but it happens and we would like to learn from our mistakes. Sri Lanka will take confidence from this match to the final and we will take learning and passion going into the final.”

Rizwan is superhuman and he is very spiritual the energy he brings to the team is amazing” He concluded.

An Exciting Contest on Hands

Pakistan & Sri Lanka have played exceptional cricket and are the deserving teams. Sri Lanka wouldn’t have asked for a better comeback after the drubbing they got from Afghanistan in the 1st round. It looked as if the Island Nation would be eliminated in the first round itself, but Chris Silverwood Head Coach & Dasun Shanaka the Skipper regrouped and imbibed the winning spirit.

Pakistan has tried a lot of batters at the No.4 position and once again that position would be critical as in the finals they need someone who can provide stability to the innings. Asia Cup 2022 Final is expected to be a thriller as no team would be ready to throw the towel.
