Pakistan pacer, Shaheen Shah Afridi is missing the ongoing Asia Cup in the UAE due to a knee injury sustained while playing a Test match against Sri Lanka in July. The left arm pacer is currently undergoing rehabilitation in London in order to be fully fit for the T20 World Cup 2022, which will be hosted in Australia from October 16 to November 13.
Shaheen caught up with the pace duo of Naseem Shah and Haris Rauf after Pakistan’s five-wicket win over arch-rivals.
In a video posted on Twitter by PCB, Naseem and Haris can be seen checking on Shaheen, and the left-arm pacer said: “Rehab is going well with weight training. I will be bowling in two weeks time, six pack (abs) aaya hai little bit.”
In reply Haris Rauf responded: “Yes, you have plans to become an actor later, right?”

During the conversation, Shaheen also expected to see more yorkers from the pair in the death overs. He also praised Haris Rauf’s bowling performance against India in the Super-4 match.
“Asia cup nahi jaani chahiye,” (Asia cup shouldn’t go out of our hands),” said Afridi in the video.
In reply, Rauf said: “Aap ki bathaye hue .. aap guru ho! (Just following your path, you are the guru).”
Rauf bowled an exceptional final over in the match against India. He started with an extra but one set went on to bowl three consecutive dots against Virat Kohli, the third being an unstoppable yorker. Despite the clinical effort, he conceded 10 runs in the final over as Fakhar Zaman misfielded twice in the last two balls and the bowler hit two boundaries.
Shaheen signed off the video by saying to his teammates: “Asia cup nahi jaani chahiye (Asia cup shouldn’t go (out of our hands)”.
Pakistan will look to carry forward their momentum against Afghanistan in their next match in the Super 4 stage of the Asia Cup. Babar Azam’s team will face Mohammad Nabi’s team on September 7, Wednesday in Sharjah.
