Indian Skipper Rohit Sharma and the sly leg spinner Yuzvendra Chahal were seen in a heated conversation with the Indian reporters on Friday. The reporters were seen on the sidelines when the Indian Cricketers were seen doing preparation for the high voltage clash on Sunday (28th August).

Earlier, Chahal’s personal life was targeted by the media which created a lot of buzz. However, later he cleared all the misconceptions and confusion. Many experts termed that there is unnecessary attention towards someone’s personal life. It was disgusting to see how a player’s personal life is assassinated that too without any proof.

Skipper Rohit Sharma fumed up

Rohit Sharma was heard saying: “Kaun hai? Batao?”, ( Tell me who is the reporter). Rohit also taunted the reporters to make a story on him as the atmosphere wasn’t that good. Later Chahal made a funny remark to a reporter by saying: “Ye antakshari thodi hi chal rahi hai. Idhar antakshari khelein kya? (We are not playing ‘guess the names’ here). Both the cricketers were angry as no one has the right to destroy anyone’s reputation.

Earlier Chahal had posted a story mentioning ‘new life loading’ which may have made this story. At the same time, Chahal’s wife had removed Chahal from her name. However, Dhanashree made it clear not to believe in rumours. Ahead of the Asia Cup which is such a prestigious tournament; having such distractions can only hamper and disturb the environment of the team.

Chahal looking for a stellar performance

Apart from the off-field chaos, the leg spinner will have to compete for a place in the playing 11. India already has the spin duo of Ashwin & Jadeja who would be the first choice ahead of the Pakistan match. Playing 3 spinners won’t be a feasible option as Pakistani batters can cut the opponent in half as they have got Babar & Fakhar who can thrive on any opportunity.

The crafty leg spinner would be hoping that he gets a nod for the opener as he has the knack of taking 3-4 wickets that too with a good run rate. He would already be regretting missing out on the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 where his non-selection had raised a lot of eyebrows. In the end, it would be interesting to see what decision Rahul Dravid & Rohit Sharma make as a defeat will question their preparations.
