Indian Cricket Team is once again going to lock horns against Pakistan on Sunday (04th September) in Dubai in the Super 4 stage. India had convincingly defeated Pakistan in the 1st round by 5 wickets and was quite ruthless with both bat & ball.

The Men in Green were taken by surprise by India’s approach which wasn’t that fearless. Babar Azam before the 1st round match was seen giving a prep talk to his team members by saying that they should remember the 2021 ICC T20 World Cup match where they upset India.

Rohit Sharma, the Indian skipper would like to improve his form and play some mind-blowing innings. The batter would also like to see KL Rahul play his natural game rather than getting into the shell. There is no doubt that KL Rahul is one of the best in business when it comes to range hitting, but he is somewhat looking puzzled as to whether to unleash the attack or not.

Kapil Dev on Indian Cricket Team:

During a debate between the two sides, the former captain was pretty surprised about the team’s combination. “We were very surprised (with Pant’s absence against Pakistan), there’s no doubt about that. We were all discussing it. The way Pant has played and added to that, he’s a left-hander, he was a very good option.

“And we can only sit here and discuss. But you are right, his presence makes India’s batting stronger and his way of batting is completely different,”  Kapil Dev said during his stint with ABP News, as their panel was joined by Pakistan news channel Geo Super.

The conundrum of Rishabh Pant & Dinesh Karthik

Indian Head Coach Rahul Dravid and skipper Rohit Sharma had earlier preferred Dinesh Karthik over Rishabh Pant in the first encounter against Pakistan. Karthik didn’t get that much time in the middle to showcase his talent; whereas Pant was included in the match against Hong Kong, but he didn’t get a chance to bat.

In all this chaos, the management is tempted to play both which would not only strengthen their batting; but will give them a lot of options in a close run chase. Hardik Pandya’s workload is under the scanner as it won’t be a good option to make him the 5th bowler as he is quite injury prone.

It would be interesting to see who would be given the nod and it looks likely that Karthik once again will dethrone Pant for the second round of the India vs Pakistan match.
