The last few days have been extremely tough for young India pacer Arshdeep Singh. The left-arm pacer faced severe criticism and trolling after he dropped a sitter at a crucial stage during the defeat against Pakistan in the ongoing Asia Cup. Later in the same match, he was asked to defend 7 runs in the final over.

India went on to lose the game although Arshdeep Singh did manage to impress once again with his death bowling. The youngster faced a similar situation on Tuesday night when India were up against Sri Lanka in a crucial clash. He was once again tasked with the responsibility of defending 7 runs in the final over.

He eventually brought down the equation to 2 runs off 2 balls. On the fifth ball, he completely beat Dasun Shanaka before two overthrows on the same deliveries saw the Sri Lanka batters take a double to cross the finishing line. Chasing 174, the Islanders reached home with a ball remaining.

With the win, Sri Lanka have all but sealed their place in the final of Asia Cup 2022. India, on the other hand, have very slim chances of progressing ahead. The Men in Blue will not only have to win their remaining match but will also need other results to go their way.

Rohit Sharma’s shocking behaviour towards Arshdeep Singh:

Following India’s loss, an incident from the match has gone viral on social media. In the clip that is doing rounds on social media, skipper Rohit Sharma could be seen behaving very rudely with Arshdeep Singh. While the details are not known but by looking at the clip one can understand why fans are not happy with Rohit.

The incident took place in the very last over of the match. Arshdeep appeared to suggest something to Rohit only for the India skipper to walk away with a frustrated face. Arshdeep could not even convey his message completely before an under-pressure Rohit decided to walk away. Fans have been taking shots at Rohit for his behaviour towards his young teammate.
