IND vs BAN: India Likely to Rest Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammad Siraj, Hardik Pandya; Shreyas Iyer Still Not Fit For Bangladesh Clash - Reports

India have qualified for the final of the Asia Cup 2023. They displayed a staggering performance in the Super Four stage of the tournament and booked their berth for the summit clash. The Rohit Sharma-led side ahead of the final will be locking horns with Bangladesh on Friday (15th September).

With the game not being important in the context of the game, it is expected that India would make some changes to their XI to give game time to some players. A report in Cricbuzz has suggested that Men in Blue will make three changes to their team, resting some key players ahead of the upcoming ICC World Cup 2023.

It is learned that Jasprit Bumrah along with Mohammad Siraj and Hardik Pandya will be rested to manage their workload. In their place management is keen to give opportunities to in particular Mohammad Shami along with Prasidh Krishna. Shardul Thakur too will be back having missed out on the last game due to conditions.

The reports in Cricbuzz also suggested that Shreyas Iyer is unlikely to be part of the playing 11 against Bangladesh. The batter had a good net session ahead of the game but he isn’t 100% fit, which potentially rules him out of the game. The middle-order batter had a back spasm ahead of the game against Pakistan.

Apart from this, it is also learned that one among Suryakumar Yadav or Tilak Varma will be included in the XI. The reports suggested that one of the top-order batters, most likely Virat Kohli, will make way for either of the two. It is expected that Suryakumar Yadav will get the nod ahead as he’s part of the World Cup squad.

India bowling coach Paras Mhambrey was asked about making possible changes in the XI, replying to which he said they have an opportunity to give rest to some players. Speaking to reporters, he explained:

“We have an opportunity to give the rest of the players a chance to play. So definitely it is open. I think the captain will announce it tomorrow (Friday). But it is an option as we have already qualified (for the final), so we will see tomorrow,” he concluded.
