Indian pacer Ishant Sharma has picked Mohammed Siraj as the best pacer in the current Indian setup. According to Ishant Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah comes after Mohammed Siraj on the list.
With his amazing performances in ODI format in 2023, Mohammed Siraj has cemented his place in the ODI team. He also reached the top rank in ICC ODI rankings earlier this year, with numerous wickets he grabbed in the few ODI games he played this year.

Ishant Sharma Picks Mohammed Siraj As Best Pacer For India
During a conversation on Jio Cinema show ‘Home Of Heroes’, Delhi Capitals pacer Ishant Sharma was asked who is the best pacer in the current Indian team. Sharma replied that Mohammed Siraj is obviously the best pacer.
“Siraj, obviously. Should we add Bumrah or not? It depends on fitness. I think Bumrah will have to play smart. There is no Test series until the World Cup, so he has to just play white-ball cricket. After that, Mukesh Kumar, Navdeep Saini, Avesh Khan, Arshdeep Singh, and Umran Malik”, Ishant Sharma said.
Jasprit Bumrah is unarguably the most crucial pacer for India, who is a regular member in all three formats. However, he was out of the field due to a back injury since September 2022.
The right-arm pacer recently made a comeback to the national team in the T20I series against Ireland. He also picked 4 wickets in 2 games against Ireland and won the player of the series award. Notably, Bumrah led the team in the series in the absence of Rohit Sharma.
Talking about Mohammed Siraj, the right-arm pacer has grabbed a lot of limelight in the absence of Bumrah this year. In 8 ODI games in 2023, Mohammed Siraj has picked 19 wickets at an average of 13.21 and an economy rate of 4.61.
After Kuldeep Yadav, Siraj is the leading wicket-taker for India in ODIs this year. Siraj is also part of the Indian team in Asia Cup 2023.
