Former Australian cricketer Tom Moody talked about the India vs Pakistan game. He said that the game between the two arch-rivals even surpasses the Ashes and also shared his insights for their impending game in the Asia Cup 2023.

India and Pakistan are all set to look horns with each other in the upcoming Asia Cup 2023. The two teams will be up against each other on 2nd September in Kandy. There are very high chances that they might face each other thrice, in the Super 4 stage and final.

Over the years India and Pakistan have engaged in various high-intensity battles but that too has reached the next level since the last 3-4 years. The Men in Green, who usually used to get dominated, have given tough competition to their rivals and even have thumped them at big occasions.

Both India and Pakistan haven’t played any bilateral series since 2013 due to political tensions and therefore their game in the Asia Cup and ICC World Cup becomes even more special. The excitement for the upcoming game has already taken its toll on many and it’ll be an enthralling game to watch.

Tom Moody while talking about the clash said that both the teams are outstanding but the Pakistan team is a real threat as they have a combination of experience and talent.

Speaking on Star Sports, he explained: “I think this match surpasses the Ashes. It’s always got a lovely story to it, and both are outstanding cricketing nations.

“And when you look at that Pakistan squad, it does boast a lot of talent. But one thing that stands out for me is that it also boasts experience. So now they have the combination of experience and talent, they are a real threat.”

IND vs PAK: They can match India with their pace bowling – Tom Moody of Pakistan

Tom Moody further went on to say that Pakistan can match India with their pace bowling. He also pointed out that Men in Green lacks batting depth, which is the issue in their team.

He added: “They can match India with their pace bowling; they’ve got genuine pace on their side, and the only issue I see them potentially having is the depth in the quality of their batting which India has got. So that’s going to be the interesting pressure that they put on the likes of Babar Azam at the top of the order.”

After the Asia Cup 2023, India and Pakistan will be seen in action in the ICC World Cup 2023 as well. They are slated to lock horns with each other on 14th October in Ahmedabad.
