Asia Cup 2025 Cricket Teams

Asia Cup is one of the game's premier multi-nation tournaments. It is also the only continental championship in cricket. The first edition of the tournament was played in 1984. India won the first edition and are also the most successful team in the competition's history with eight titles.

Asia Cup Teams:

Eight different teams have participated in the Asia Cup so far. Of those eight teams, only Sri Lanka have played in each of the 16 edition of the Asia Cup. On the other hand, India, Pakistan and Bangladesh have played in 15 editions each.

The other teams to participate in the Asia Cup are Hong Kong, Afghanistan, Nepal and UAE. In 2025, Oman will also make their debut in the tournament.

In the first edition of the Asia Cup in 1984, three teams - India, Sri Lanka and Pakistan - took part. India boycotted the second edition. Bangladesh made their debut in the second edition of the continental championship. For the first time in 1988, more than three teams participated in the Asia Cup when India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh competed.

These were the only four teams to participate in the Asia Cup till the 2000 edition before UAE and Hong Kong made their Asia Cup debut in 2004. In 2014, Afghanistan made their debut while Nepal made their debut in 2023.

Asia Cup 2025 - Teams:

For the first time in the history of the Asia Cup, eight teams will be participating in the tournament in Asia Cup 2025. Previously, the highest number of teams in a single edition of the Asia Cup was six. The five full members of the Asian Cricket Council - India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Afghanistan - have qualified directly for the tournament.

The other three teams are UAE, Oman and Hong Kong. They have qualified for the Asia Cup by finishing in the top three of 2024 ACC Premier Cup. So here are the teams that will participate in Asia Cup 2025:
