Aaron Finch has resigned from ODI cricket due to poor form with the bat in recent times. However, with the T20 World Cup around the corner, Finch will be eager to regain form as Australia tries to defend their title.

David Warner, will not be part of their upcoming T20I tour of India, so the 35-year-old will have to take on extra responsibility to help the team get off to a successful start.

Aaron Finch Loves Batting In India – Glenn Maxwell

Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell has backed T20 captain Aaron Finch to regain his form in Australia’s tour of India for the three-match T20I series. Maxwell said Finch enjoys batting in India and is looking forward to the three-match series against the Rohit Sharma-led side.

“He’ll certainly enjoy having these games in India, he enjoys batting there,” Maxwell told reporters on Wednesday.

“Once he gets out on the field and takes control of the team out there, he’s been able to focus on the job at hand really well and that’s a credit to him,” Maxwell said.

Despite Finch’s recent struggles to score, Glenn Maxwell feels his captaincy is as sharp as ever. Even though Australia were not favourite in the tournament, he led the team to victory in the T20 World Cup last year. Even in the recent series against New Zealand, fans saw what a brilliant tactician he is.

“Obviously, it wasn’t the easiest time for him in one-day cricket, but his attitude has never changed. He was brilliant with the strategy side of things. It’s a very underrated thing in T20. Don’t discount his value as captain,” Maxwell added.

Mitchell Starc stated that winning back-to-back T20 World Cups would be challenging, but he was confident about Australia’s chances.

“We have a very similar squad to the one that won 12 months ago,” he said.

“Playing in Australia will be a big part of it, playing in front of our home fans, family and friends, which come with that added pressure as well.”

Australia will begin their World Cup campaign against New Zealand at the Sydney Cricket Ground on October 22.
