Indian Cricket Team’s designated finisher Dinesh Karthik was absolutely brilliant in wrapping up the game. He scored 10 runs off 2 balls and made hitting look quite easy. Now all the outside noise regarding Dinesh Karthik’s role as a finisher would be put to an end.
The skipper Rohit Sharma was quite happy as Karthik played according to his reputation. We have seen in the past that Karthik was blatantly ignored by the management in the recently concluded Asia Cup 2022 which was quite questionable as he hardly got any opportunity to showcase his credentials.
Karthik would be aware that people will forget his heroics quite quickly as he needs to finish off the matches consistently.

Dinesh Karthik and Ravi Shastri in a Funny Conversation
After the match, Ravi Shastri was seen interacting with Dinesh Karthik. “The finisher is with us. Easy game, DK. Two balls, piece of cake. Six, Four, Thank You very much!”
Karthik immediately replied. “You are the one who taught me to say, ‘it’s never an easy game’, Ravi bhai! Don’t go back on that, please. It’s a hard game, you know how it is!.” he said

Vintage Rohit Sharma
It looked as if Rohit Sharma had done planning for this innings. The batter smashed 46 runs in 24 balls which included 4 fours & 4 sixes. The batter was hitting monstrous sixes as the likes of Hazlewood & bowlers were rattled.
Skipper Aaron Finch was bothered because even after having 90 runs on the board, Men in Blue were getting closer to the target quite easily.

The form of Rohit Sharma is very pivotal to the Indian setup as he has the knack of running away with the game. Men in Blue now look like a formidable side but at the same time, the team should not get complacent as in T20Is couple of balls is enough to change the facets of the match.
It would be interesting to see whether Rohit continues to be bold in his approach in the 3rd T20I match as playing aggressively can also backfire.
