Salman Butt, a former captain, refused to compare Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam to India’s Rohit Sharma even though they now hold the top two spots in the ICC Men’s T20I Batting Rankings.

In the Asia Cup final on Sunday, Mohammad Rizwan led Pakistan with 55 off 49 balls, but Sri Lanka cruised to a 23-run victory to capture their sixth title as Pakistan’s typical style did not seem appropriate for the chase.

Even though the stumper finished the championship with 281 runs from six games, Rizwan’s lethargic knock received criticism from commentators and fans. The event’s Babar Azam, on the other hand, managed just 68 runs, and his dismal performance would be a worry before the World T20 in Australia next month.

Salman Butt, a former captain, refused to compare Rizwan and Babar to India’s Rohit Sharma even though they now hold the top two spots in the ICC Men’s T20I Batting Rankings. Watching a free-flowing Rohit in his element is one of the best things you can see in the game. It is a pleasure to watch him bat in any format, whether it is for his easy sixes or immaculate timing.

Only AB de Villiers comes close to him: Salman Butt

Salman Butt gave Rohit high praise and claimed that if he had half the fitness of Virat Kohli, who is considered to be one of the fittest cricket players in the world, he would be on par with AB de Villiers, a legend in his native South Africa.

“Babar and Rizwan and Rohit are not comparable. If Rohit’s fitness levels were half as good as Kohli’s, he would be the player with the most destructive skill set. Butt claimed on his YouTube channel that only AB de Villiers comes close to him” said Salman Butt on his YouTube channel.

Rohit will be captaining the team in the upcoming World T20, where India begins their campaign with an October 23 blockbuster against arch-rivals Pakistan in Melbourne.
