The 27-year-old Australia National Cricket Team right-arm speedster Nathan Ellis dismissed star India National Cricket Team batter Virat Kohli in the first T20I of the three-match T20I series at the Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindra Stadium, Mohali, Chandigarh on Tuesday, September 20.
Kohli was heading into the match with good form in his bag as he smashed two fifties and a marvellous century in the Asia Cup 2022. Kohli scored 276 runs in the multi-nation tournament at an average of 92.00 and a strike rate of 147.59 with the best score of 122* that came against Afghanistan.

However, Kohli failed to perform well in the first T20I against Australia as he was able to score just 2 runs off 7 balls, before being cleaned up by Ellis on the 5th ball of the 5th over.
Ellis, who was bowling his first over of the match, delivered a ball on the fuller side of a good length, angling into the off-stump and Kohli wanted to play it over the mid-on with his bottom hand. However, Kohli didn’t get enough elevation and the ball went towards Cameron Green, who grabbed a good catch.
Earlier, Australia National Cricket Team won the toss and invited India National Cricket Team to bat first in the match and Tim David made his debut for the Aussies.
Australia (Playing XI): Aaron Finch(c), Cameron Green, Steven Smith, Glenn Maxwell, Josh Inglis, Tim David, Matthew Wade(w), Pat Cummins, Nathan Ellis, Adam Zampa, Josh Hazlewood
India (Playing XI): Rohit Sharma(c), KL Rahul, Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya, Dinesh Karthik(w), Axar Patel, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Harshal Patel, Umesh Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal
