Virat Kohli recently named MS Dhoni as the best runner between the wickets he had ever played with. He also named his teammate Cheteshwar Pujara as the worst one.
Kohli, who is himself lauded for his running between the wickets amongst other things, recently appeared on AB de Villiers’ YouTube channel ahead of India’s 3rd and series-deciding ODI against Australia in Chennai.

During the show, both – Virat and AB had to name the fastest runner they had played with, but the two good friends could not name each other. So Kohli named his former captain Dhoni, while de Villiers names his fellow South African in Faf du Plessis.
“Of course, it’s not even a question, I have been asked this question before, AB (De Villiers) has by far been the fastest I have run with between wickets, the only other guy I had so much coordination and understanding with was MS (Dhoni). Now I don’t know about the speeds between the wickets, but with him and MS I would not even have to call,” said Kohli.

The former Indian captain was also asked to pick up the worst runner between the wickets, to which he named his Test match teammate Pujara. Regaling a tale from India’s tour of South Africa in 2018, the 34-year-old recalled how Pujara ran him out in the first innings of the Centurion test and got himself run out in the second.
Virat Kohli names the best atmosphere he has experienced in his career
During the same appearance with AB de Villiers, Virat Kohl also named the best atmosphere he has experienced in his career.
The Indian batting-maestro has seen the highs and lows of Indian cricket for more than a year, from making it to several finals to disappointing loses, he has experienced it all.
Answering the question about the best atmosphere, he recalled the 2016 IPL final that he played alongside AB de Villiers for RCB, where they lost the match to Sunrisers Hyderabad. But he ultimately named the 2011 World Cup final, where India triumphed over Sri Lanka in the Wankhede Stadium. He also named India’s win over Pakistan in MCG during the 2022 Tw20 World Cup.
“Best atmosphere I have experienced, the IPL final in 2016 was a very special day, it was very very intense, but above that is the World Cup final in 2011 in Mumbai, it was an unbelievable atmosphere. I have never experienced anything like that till 23rd October against Pakistan at the MCG. That night was something else, it was more than a sporting experience,” added Virat.
Throughout his career, Virat Kohli has also won a Champion’s Trophy, reached multiple semi-finals and finals in ICC tournaments, and picked up countless glorious wins for his team as a captain and a player.
