After the season ends in March and April, PCB chairman Ramiz Raja stated pitches in Pakistan will be improved.
Ramiz Raja, head of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), responded to the criticism levelled at the pitch that was prepared for the first Test between Pakistan and Australia in Rawalpindi.
The match was the commencement of Australia’s first tour of Pakistan in 24 years, however, it ended in a tie after both teams scored over 450 runs in their first innings.

Former players including as Inzamam-ul-Haq, Shahid Afridi, and Mohammad Hafeez have questioned the pitch. Raja stated that pitches in Pakistan require a facelift, which would be completed in March and April.
“A tied Test is never a good advertisement for Test cricket, and I completely see why we need a result after five days of cricket.” “However, I’d like to clarify a few points,” Raja said in a video released by the PCB.
“The first thing I suggested was that we need to completely reconstruct pitches in Pakistan. However, when I took over, it was September, and the season was still going strong. During the off-season, you’ll see that we imported soil from Australia and experimented with several types of soil. “As soon as our season ends in March and April, we’ll go back to Pakistan and redo 50-60 pitches,” he stated.
Ramiz Raja stated that bouncy pitches can’t be prepared in order to give Australia an advantage:
Raja stated that they would not be able to create fast or bouncy pitches since this would give Australia the upper hand.
The former Pakistan captain also stated that the team’s opening batting and bowling combinations had been disrupted before to the commencement of the Test, posing a risk of them being unable to compete if the surface did not provide circumstances familiar to the home side’s hitters.

“I understand the fans’ dissatisfaction, and a win in this Test match would have been fantastic.” But keep in mind that this is a three-match series, and there is still plenty of cricket to be played.
We can’t just construct a quick, bouncy surface and leave the conditions in Australia’s hands. When we play at home, it is critical that we play to our strengths.
The second Test will begin on March 12 in Karachi, and the third and final Test in the series will begin on March 21 in Lahore.
