Australia beat Pakistan in the third and final Test in Lahore to win the Test series 1-0. This happened after the first two Tests ended in a draw with the pitches at Rawalpindi and Karachi drawing a lot of attention.

At Karachi, the Australians came out with an intent to win and bowled the Pakistanis out twice inside five days. The win gives the Aussie some much-needed points in the ongoing ICC World test Championship. Pakistan needed 351 runs to win the Test match in the fourth innings and fell short by 115 runs.

Khawaja was adjudged as the Man of the Match for scoring 496 runs in two matches which included two hundreds including a score of 160.

“We’ve had a lot of fun. Want to thank Pakistan, the fans. The boys would agree. The food’s been great. Winning today has been the icing on the cake. I think 350 with four sessions was a pretty good target. I knew how tough it was batting there. It was the hardest wicket I batted on. Was the hardest hundred I got.”

Twitterverse congratulated the Australian team for making history against Pakistan displaying a dominating performance in the third and final Test at Lahore. Here is how they reacted to Australia’s famous win at Lahore.

This was Pat Cummins’ first Test series against Pakistan as captain and he was elated with a series win. The side travelled to the country 14 years later since their last trip and the win was special. This is also their third Test series win against Pakistan in Pakistan.

“The really great thing about this whole squad is .. we played really well in Australia in the Ashes. And now here. Swepson probably didn’t get the just rewards, was an important member of our bowling group. We’ve been so well received here. Didn’t know what to expect here but it has been an amazing experience. Been a lot of fun. Competitive cricket. In a lot of way, it’s been more important than just the result” Cummins concluded saying.

Both teams now play a three-match ODI series followed by a one-off T20I match starting from March 29.
