Bangladesh thrashed the Proteas by nine wickets on Wednesday at the SuperSport Park in Centurion to clinch the three-match ODI series 2-1.
Bangladesh began their tour of South Africa with a 38-run win at the same venue but went down to the hosts in Johannesburg as they lost by seven wickets. However, Tamim Iqbal and his men stood tall to bounce back with an emphatic nine-wicket victory, which guaranteed their first-ever bilateral series win in South Africa.

We take a lot of pride in ODI cricket, we believe we are a good side. This is one format where we have been doing well in the last 5-6 years.
“Winning a series overseas was missing, but we have managed to do that this time. For Shakib to come here and play is massive,” he added.
Following their historic feat, Bangladesh will play against South Africa in a couple of Test matches, the first game begins on March 31 in Durban.
