Australian all-rounder Marcus Stoinis made a witty remark after swashbuckling batter Glenn Maxwell made the highest score in the history of the Big Bash League (BBL).
The Melbourne Stars skipper produced breathtaking innings of an unbeaten 154-run knock against Hobart Hurricanes at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Wednesday.

In a match where the Stars were playing to grab a spot in the knockout stage, with very slim hopes, Maxwell went berserk after opening the innings for his side.
The Australian all-rounder reached his second BBL hundred in 41 balls as he flicked towards the deep square to steal a single off Jordan Thompson’s bowling in the 11th over.
Maxwell hammered 22 fours and four sixes in his 100th BBL match and ended up scoring 154 from 64 balls, the highest score in the BBL.
I watched the replay of my own innings: Marcus Stoinis
Maxwell, who was batting with Stoinis at the end of Stars’ innings, broke his long-time teammate’s record of 147* against Sydney Sixers in BBL 2019-20.
Marcus Stoinis on Glenn Maxwell's 154*:
"I've only really seen something similar once in my life, when I watched the replay of my own innings."

In the post-match interview, Stoinis, who was standing alongside his skipper, was asked how he would describe Maxwell’s staggering knock.
“I’ve only really seen something similar once in my life when I watched the replay of my own innings,” Stoinis responded to the official broadcasters in an amusing manner.
Maxwell and Stoinis put up 132 runs for the third-wicket as they clobbered Hurricanes bowlers to cleaners and registered a mammoth total of 273, the third-highest T20 total of all time.
Melbourne Stars thumped Hurricanes by 106 runs as Ben McDermott (55) and D’Arcy Short (44) tried to play consolation knocks for their side in their daunting chase of 274 runs.
Stars are out of contention to play the finals of BBL but they definitely have dented hopes of Hurricanes, who will face Adelaide Strikers in the Eliminator game on January 21.
