Hard-hitting Pakistan batsman Fakhar Zaman has joined the Brisbane Heat franchise in the 11th season of the Big Bash League. The dependable Pakistan No.3 will leave for Australia on Thursday night to join the team and will begin preparation to save their season.
Brisbane Heat have had a forgetful BBL 11 so far
Brisbane Heat have just won two games out of seven this season and are badly in need of reinforcements. Fakhar Zaman’s addition will thus strengthen their batting and will give them that much-needed impetus in the top order.
Fakhar Zaman was playing the Qaid-e-Azam Trophy for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa at the National Stadium in Karachi and his team won by beating Northern by 169 runs.
There have been a number of Pakistan players who have been playing in the Big Bash League this season. Shadab Khan is playing for the Sydney Sixers, Mohammad Hasnain is playing for the Sydney Thunder while Haris Rauf, Ahmed Daniyal and Syed Faridoun are featuring for the Melbourne Stars.
Fakhar Zaman has played in 175 T20s in his career in which he has scored as many as 4300 runs at a decent average of 27.04 and a healthy strike rate of 132.96. He also has a hundred to his name. Having started his career as an opener, Zaman has settled into the role of the No.3 batsman for Pakistan. So it will be interesting to see where he slots in for the Brisbane Heat.
Brisbane Heat will play their next game against the Hobart Hurricanes at the Bellerive Oval in Hobart.
