Brisbane Heat will play their second match in the BBL 2021 on Wednesday at Perth Stadium. Brisbane Heat haven’t started their campaign on a bright note. The batting unit failed to hit the straps against a disciplined bowling attack of Sydney Thunder.

Barring Ben Duckett (46 off 35) and Heazlett (42 off 37), none of the batsmen made an impact with the bat. As a result of that, Brisbane Heat could only manage to score 140 runs in the first innings.

Sydney Thunders, in reply, chased down the score in just 17.1 overs. Liam Guthrie picked two out of three wickets fallen inside the powerplay, however, the bowlers couldn’t pick wickets after that. Sam Billings and Alex Ross stayed unbeaten throughout the chase as the Thunders’ bowling unit had no answer to the exhibition of shots shown by the duo. The fans would expect better performance with both bat and ball from Brisbane Heat in the next game.

Having said that, it won’t be easy as they are facing the runners-up of the previous edition, Perth Scorchers. The man who played the match-winning knock in the final of the ICC T20 World Cup 2021, Mitchell Marsh will lead the team.

His presence would be, once again, to make them a team to beat. Besides, there are plenty of star players in the team, such as Colin Munro, Laurie Evans and Josh Inglis. Cameron Bancroft is present for the anchor role, while Ashton Turner is present for the finishing role.

Unfortunately, this year, Perth Scorchers will miss the services of Jason Roy and Liam Livingstone. Their absence could be huge a setback for the team. How the team performs in their absence remains to be seen. Also, Jhye Richardson won’t be available, which could dent the bowling attack. Though, they have got two experienced fast bowlers whom they can rely upon, namely Andrew Tye and Jason Behrendorff.

Perth Scorchers won 8 out of 14 matches in the league stage last year and went on to play the final of the tournament. Unfortunately, they couldn’t win the title as they lost to Sydney Sixers in the summit clash. Mitchell Marsh and Co. would be keen to go one step ahead to clinch the title.
