Brisbane Heat Cricket Team 2026
Brisbane Heat is a Big Bash League (BBL) cricket franchise based in Brisbane, Australia.
Founded in 2011, the Brisbane Heat replaced the Queensland Bulls who represented the region in the now-defunct KFC T20 Big Bash.
They play their home games at the Brisbane Cricket Ground, famously known as The Gabba.
Over the years, the team has been led by some famous cricketers such as Usman Khawaja, Chris Lynn, Brendon McCullum, and Daniel Vettori.
Brisbane Heat’s journey in BBL so far:
In their first season of the BBL, Brisbane Heat failed to advance ahead of the league stage and finished at the fifth spot in the 8-team competition.
However, in the following season, they went all the way and won the title for the first time. The Brisbane-based outfit is yet to win the BBL title again.
After winning the title, Brisbane Heat failed to advance to the finals for the next three seasons before losing in the semifinals in the 2016-17 season.
It was followed by another poor run in the BBL as they could not go past the league stage from 2017-18 to 2019-20 seasons.
In the 2020-21 season, they lost the Challenger before exiting at the group stage in 2022 and 2023.
The Heat finally laid their hands on the BBL trophy in 2024 by winning the 2023-24 edition.
