13-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi shatters record books; scores 100 off 58 balls vs Australia

Vaibhav Suryavanshi, the 13-year-old left-handed opener from Bihar, shattered records as he reached his century off just 58 balls. Suryavanshi smashed 14 fours and 4 sixes during his whirlwind knock.

Suryavanshi registered this achievement during the first youth Test between India Under-19 and Australia Under-19 at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai. He was in magnificent form and showed amazing hitting skills with the bat.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi was not out on 81 by stumps on Day 1 as India Under-19 were 103-0 in 14 overs. His opening partner Vihaan Malhotra was unbeaten on just 21 by that time. It shows how dominating Suryavanshi was in his innings.

He completed his century on the next day. Reaching a hundred in just 58 balls in a four-day game is itself a big achievement and Suryavanshi showed why he is regarded so highly.

He was selected in the India Under-19 team despite being just 13 currently. Vaibhav Suryavanshi batted with freedom as he was given the license to play his shots. He played some great cricketing shots which was the highlight of his innings.

His innings has propelled India to a strong position in which they will aim to score as much runs as possible in their first innings. India were 165-3 in 29 overs at the time of writing in reply to Australia's 293 in the first innings.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi was finally dismissed for 104 off just 62 balls. The youngster smashed 14 fours and 4 sixes during his knock. He was unfortunately run out by Christan Howe.

With this knock, Suryavanshi is now in the limelight and will be in focus in the upcoming games. He might also be in the radar of some of the IPL teams as he has all the credentials to emerge as a superstar player in the future.

India Under-19 batters show aggressive intent

Earlier, Australia Under-19 batted first after winning the toss and got a good start from their openers. But Indian bowlers came back superbly with terrific bowling spells from fast bowler Samarth Nagaraj and lagspinner Mohamed Enaan.

Both Nagaraj and Enaan picked up three wickets each and did not allow Australia's middle order batters to settle down. For Australia, opener Riley Kingsell and Aidan O'Connor scored crucial fifties while Christan Howe contributed with 48 runs.

Meanwhile, the second youth Test between these two teams will also be played on the same ground. The two-match series was followed by three unofficial ODIs between these two talented teams.

The ODI series was completely dominated by India Under-19 as they completed a 3-0 whitewash of Australia Under-19 at Puducherry. It was a great performance by the young Indian team who proved their mettle in favorable conditions.
