Samson scored 119 runs off 63 deliveries as Rajasthan Royals aimed to chase mammoth 222 in the 2nd innings. Samson smashed 7 sixes and 12 boundaries during his stupendous knock. However, Sanju Samson failed to clear the ropes on the final ball and Punjab Kings won the match by 4 runs.
Earlier, Punjab Kings had scored 221-6 batting first with a 91-run knock by skipper KL Rahul. Samson was adjudged player of the match for his outstanding batting.
