For a short period of time, IPL 2021 enthralled cricket fans to a great extent. IPL 2021 was suspended by BCCI after few players were infected by Covid-19. Before the suspension, IPL 2021 witnessed 29 thrilling matches among the 8 teams. IPL 2021 reached almost halfway at the time of getting postponed. All the eight teams had faced each other at least once with all of them playing 7 matches or more out of the total 14.

Rajasthan Royals skipper Sanju Samson bagged the limelight in the opening game against Punjab Kings itself after smashing a century in the match. Samson scored 119 runs off 63 deliveries as Rajasthan Royals aimed to chase mammoth 222 in the 2nd innings. Samson smashed 7 sixes and 12 boundaries during his stupendous knock. However, Sanju Samson failed to clear the ropes on the final ball and Punjab Kings won the match by 4 runs.

Earlier, Punjab Kings had scored 221-6 batting first with a 91-run knock by skipper KL Rahul. Samson was adjudged player of the match for his outstanding batting. Samson scored 277 runs in 7 matches during IPL 2021 and was the 5th highest run-scorer of the tournament. Samson had a strike rate of 145+ during the tournament.

Devdutt Padikkal is another player who hit a century in IPL 2021. The Royal Challengers Bangalore’s opener Padikkal smashed an unbeaten 101-run knock against Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2021. Padikkal smashed 6 sixes and 11 boundaries during his knock.

Royal Challengers Bangalore were chasing 178 runs in the match and Devdutt Padikkal and Virat Kohli shared a magnificent partnership of 181 runs. RCB won the match by 10 wickets in just 16.3 overs. Devdutt Padikkal became the star of the match for his spectacular batting. Padikkal played 6 matches in the tournament and scored 195 runs. He had an overall strike rate of 153+ while batting in IPL 2021.

Rajasthan Royals player Jos Buttler was the third player to hit a century in IPL 2021. The English cricketer smashed 124 runs off 64 balls in the match against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Batting first, opener Jos Buttler smacked 8 sixes and 11 boundaries during his knock. Rajasthan Royals reached 220-3 batting first. Later, Sunrisers Hyderabad reached 165-8 in 20 overs and lost the match by 55 runs. Jos Buttler bagged the spotlight for his incredible knock in the match. Buttler played 7 matches in IPL 2021 and scored 254 runs at an average of 36+. He batted at a great strike rate of 153+.
