After India's heroic 3-0 clean sweep over Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2025, the BCCI has announced a mammoth INR 21 Crore prize money for the Indian team and the support staff. This would be the first major measure adopted under the new President Mithun Manhas.

The war between India and Pakistan has not been limited to the political realm or the battlefield alone; it has spread even to the field of cricket. Not only the players but also the two boards have been under real pressure.

BCCI and PCB had also filed multiple complaints against each other to the ACC as well as the ICC. As a result of these, the two teams had to bear financial penalties and serious consequences after players from both sides were found guilty.

BCCI praises India's dominance over Pakistan in Asia Cup 2025

India ended their Asia Cup campaign on a dominating note. The World Champions started the Asia Cup campaign as a preparatory tournament ahead of the much-anticipated T20 World Cup in 2026, which is scheduled to be played in India and Sri Lanka.

The Indian team dominated Pakistan since their first game in the Asia Cup. The first game marked the Pakistan batters struggling to score against the Indian spinners, as Kuldeep Yadav bagged a stunning 3-for.

The next two matches were further crucial matches, one the Super-4 game where Abhishek Sharma broke the back of the Pakistan bowling unit, and the other in the Asia Cup final, where Tilak Varma stood tall as India's guardian angel during the modest run-chase.

BCCI has celebrated this moment with a post of 3 blows and 0 response on their X handle and has announced a huge reward for the Indian players, as well as others in the management.

BCCI flexes its riches with historic '21 Crores' prize money after Asia Cup success

The BCCI has recently appointed their new President, Mithun Manhas, the former Delhi-based cricketer. After his announcement, this is one of the most monumental decisions taken, as they look forward to awarding a whopping INR 21 Crores to the victorious Indian side as well as the management.

Previously, under Jay Shah's leadership, even the Indian team was awarded such honorary amounts after their T20 World Cup as well as Champions Trophy triumphs. However, keeping aside the celebrations, Gautam Gambhir and Suryakumar Yadav would now be focused on India defending their World Cup title in 2026.

India's next assignment is against the West Indies in the home Test series

After having earned a massive and commanding win over the rivals' Asian sides in the Asia Cup, the Indian side would have to prepare for their upcoming events. Though Shubman Gill could not deliver the best of his performances in the Asia Cup, he will be seen in a further crucial role in the next 3 months.

India will be continuing their ICC World Test Championship campaign with the 2-match home Test series against the West Indies. The first Test starts on the 2nd of October, and the likes of Shubman Gill, paceman Jasprit Bumrah, all-rounder Axar Patel, and spinner Kuldeep Yadav are part of India's red-ball squad.

Amid this series, Indian selectors are also expected to come up with a squad for the white-ball tour to Australia. Indian fans await to witness the return of their beloved veterans Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma.
