The Indian youngsters have been sent to Sri Lanka with a motive that they will get exposure to international cricket’s demands and they will get ready in few years. The Indian domestic platform is so good that even without the seniors like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, India has sent 20 deserving players to Sri Lanka for the limited-overs series.

The ODI series went quite well as expected and India won the series 2-1 but the T20I series was a little bit different and after winning the first T20I, India faltered in the next games. The inexperience came into play but it was going to be a learning curve as expected and here are 3 Indian players who can return to the International setup after improvising their skills.

3 Indian Players Who Can Return To The International Setup After Improvizing Their Skills:

Devdutt Padikkal:

Devdutt Padikkal got his opportunity in the second and the third T20 internationals, and he looked as if he wasn’t ready for international games yet. The left-hander from Karnataka is a prolific run-scorer in the domestic tournaments and he brought up his maiden IPL century this year for the RCB.

Padikkal could make just 29 and 9 in the two innings he played and he did not get his preferred position of opening the innings. However, he still has a long way to go and he needs to work on his shot-making skills in the middle overs. He will surely get another opportunity for India as he is extremely talented and he is just 21 years old at the moment.

Chetan Sakariya:

Chetan Sakariya did not have the worst of debuts but certainly, he was far from the expectations that have been built upon him from his stint with the Rajasthan Royals. The left-arm seamer was brilliant in the IPL and he made his debut in the third ODI against Sri Lanka where he picked up two wickets.

Sakariya has a lot of variations under his kitty and he was termed to be an excellent powerplay bowler. He was a touch expensive in the second T20I especially with the new ball and he might well have to develop a bit of pace. He also needs to work on bringing the ball back into the right-hander which can yield him much more wickets.

Ruturaj Gaikwad:

Ruturaj Gaikwad was one of the star performers in the IPL for the Chennai Super Kings and he had a lot of elegance in his shot-making. He had hit a lot of fifties in the previous IPL season and proved to be an excellent pick in the auction. His impressive performances earned him a place in the Indian squad for the Sri Lanka tour.

Gaikwad got two chances in the second and the third T20 internationals and he looked in decent touch with the bat. He had the flair in the batting but couldn’t get the big score to showcase his skills. He is certainly a player for the future and he would have to work on his hard-hitting skills in the middle overs too.
